Fred Thompson, the actor turned politician best known his role of district attorney on NBC's "Law & Order" has officially pulled out of the presidential race. Money had already been tight, and after losing in all primary’s to date he ran out of it altogether.
Thompson’s campaign was very short lived. He only officially announced he was running in September. The former Republican Senator from Tennessee decided to forgo the Republican debate in New Hampshire to announce his candidacy on Jay Leno. He later finished on the bottom in the New Hampshire primary held on January 8, 2008.
